Kevin Walsh is Associate Professor and Reader of Meteorology at the University of Melbourne. His research interests include climate change, climate variability and tropical meteorology. He has published a number of scientific papers on these topics, performing studies involving both data analysis and numerical simulation. In addition, he has managed numerous research and consulting projects for the Australian Department of Climate Change, for Australian state government authorities and for private industry. He is an Editor of the Journal of Climate, Associate Editor of the Australian Meteorological Magazine, and co-chair of the U.S. CLIVAR Working Group on Hurricanes. He is a former President of the Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
